Bolesta Center provides a highly labor-intensive program which is parent-focused and child-driven. Our one criterion for admission is active parent participation.
Our services are carried out through highly experienced Auditory-Verbal therapists who work with parents and their children during one-on-one weekly or otherwise routine demonstration listening sessions. Profoundly deaf children are placed on the fast track and, if enrolled soon after their deafness is identified and if their parents become active partners with the staff, become functionally hearing and speaking children in four years. Hard-of-hearing children, also on the fast track, are typically ready to graduate within one to two years after enrollment.
